Dr. Javeria Mahar Faculty - Dr. Javeria Mahar
PhD Construction & Architecture

Dr. Javeria Shaikh received her Ph.D. in Construction and Architecture from Hanyang University, Korea. Her research emphasis is Simulation of Syntax studies in Healthcare specially ICU in Korea and Pakistan hospital design under the supervision of internationally renowned professor and cooperative team of faculty members and with modern research facilities available. She did her B.Arch. Architecture from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture which is a prestigious institution for Architecture in Pakistan. She then continued her M.Arch from UET Lahore and further went for Masters in Architecture (Building Repair and Diagnosis) in Spain, Italy and Poland under Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Program.

During PhD, her design expertise in the hospitality sector were fine-tuned by a visit to USA, Australia and Malaysia where she was granted travel under HEC criterion. She went to Texas Tech University, USA “Space Syntax in Hospital”. In addition, she attended international seminars on various subjects like Syntax in Seoul and Paris, some on Renewable Energy in Korea and developed links with internationally renowned professionals like Dr. Michael Cozen and Dr. Prof. Michael Janson who pioneered City Planning and Urban Planning.

Her research interests are Healthcare Facility Design based space design, simulate the area, development of composite based smart healthcare spaces, studying nature for healthcare solutions, development of inland composite manufacturing facilities in government as well as in private healthcare industry. She is driven by never-ending curiosity and a passion for research. This is why she enjoys her profession, because every day would bring new challenges and learning experience for healthcare which is in a merger state.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Garment Production and Textile Manufacturing are both classified as light industry while they meet the basic needs of the mankind. The Garment Production is consist of simple but numerous detailed operations done by manual man power & handling which can easily be slowed down & operated inefficiently. The reason of bottlenecks and inefficiencies can be determined and avoided after real & careful analysis, with the implementation of sustainable solutions. We must analyze; a) The character of resources, both structure wise & physical, b) Section wise executions on time and at sufficient quantities c) Balance and flow of raw/semi-produced materials. As well as accessories by the use of correct practical methods and application of supporting systems. In addition to these measurable and noticeable causes we must detect the effects of mistakes and errors done / or occurred during processes due to weak / ineffective managerial applications like planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and controlling at every stage of processing steps by the people in charge. PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The developing countries like ours still transfer manpower from agriculture to industry. These people are from rural areas with limited education but higher in humanly sensitive values like beliefs, respect and devotion.
