DHA Suffa University (DSU), established in the year 2012, has systematically taken giant strides to become the institution of choice in Pakistan. The university offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in Engineering, Computer Sciences and Management Sciences.
At DSU, students receive quality education and become acquainted with individuals who share diverse interests yet blend in very easily. Thus, DSU not only helps to expand the mental faculties of individuals but also transforms them into more open-minded, accepting and involved citizens of the world.
Going forward, DSU intends to become a globally recognized institution for higher education and research by extending the frontiers of knowledge and contributing towards grooming the scholars of tomorrow. From the expansion of infrastructure to the development of technology, revamp of curricula to formation of pedagogy, addition of foreign qualified faculty to introduction of new programs, DSU has been committed to providing well-equipped engineers, computer scientists, entrepreneurs and corporate leaders to the world.
Recognition and Approvals
DSU was recognized as a private sector degree awarding institution by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) in the year 2012. In its very first participation in the annual ranking process of HEC for the year 2014, DSU achieved the impressive ranking of 31 out of 169 public and private sector universities of Pakistan.
The BE (Mechanical) and BE (Electrical) programs of DSU have been approved by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). The BS (Computer Sciences) program conforms to the standards of National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC). The BBA and MBA programs conform to the standards of National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC).
The university has been inspected and evaluated by the Government of Sindh’s Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee (CIEC) twice in the last four years. On both the occasions, the CIEC was pleased to see the rapid growth of the university and the high standards of education being maintained.
Scholarships and Fee Concessions
DSU is an equal opportunity institution with merit being the sole criteria for admission. It ensures that no student, qualifying for admission, is denied high quality education due to his/her inability to bear the costs. In order to fulfill this commitment, the university offers the following facilities for the benefit of students, complying strictly with the prescribed rules, regulations and procedures:
a. Merit Scholarships: Students securing first/second/third position in the Intermediate Board Examinations get a Merit Scholarship up to 90% in the first semester. From second semester onwards, academically outstanding students are given Merit Scholarship of varying amount based on the results of the preceding semester.
b. Need Based Scholarships: Students with financial constraints may apply on the prescribed form within first 2 weeks after the start of every semester. Based on the need vis-à-vis the financial strength of the parents, the students get a scholarship from 10% to 90%.
c. Interest Free Loan from Ihsan Trust: Students with financial constraints may apply on the prescribed form for an interest free loan of varying amount within first 2 weeks after the start of every semester.
d. Payment of Tuition Fee/Charges in Installments: Students facing difficulties in paying the Tuition Fee/Charges in lump sum may apply to pay it in 2-3 installments on the prescribed form.
e. Fee Concession for the Employees of DHA and DSU: A concession of 50% in Tuition Fee is given to all regular employees of DHA and DSU for themselves, their spouses and their dependent children subject to the condition that they achieve a GPA of 2.0 or above in the semester.
Applications for Scholarships and Fee Concessions are processed by the Scholarships Award Committee.
DSU offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in Engineering, Computer Sciences and Management Sciences.
Typically, an undergraduate program at DSU requires 139 credit hours in 8 semesters spreading over 4 years to complete. Graduate programs may take 2 to 3 years to complete, while PhD programs consist of a coursework of 18 credit hours, a research thesis of 36 credit hours, a proposal defense and a thesis defense.

Professional Development Center (PDC)
To keep up with the rapid developments of this day and age, it is essential for individuals working at various levels of hierarchy in industries, organizations and institutions to keep updating their knowledge and skill sets. Constant training of individuals throughout their careers has become imperative for nations to obtain and retain an economic edge.
DSU has established a Professional Development Center (PDC) targeted at middle managers, senior managers and other professionals who wish to enhance their leadership potential.
PDC at DSU conducts professional development courses to assist individuals in acquiring professional and technical knowledge required by their respective organizations and to facilitate the interaction between academia and industry.
Center of Excellence for the Development of Research and Soft Skills (CEDRSS)
Through the Center of Excellence for the Development of Research and Soft Skills (CEDRSS), DSU offers to empower research students by providing them a platform to polish not only their English language skills but also their soft skills such as leadership qualities and interpersonal communication skills. CEDRSS aims to provide training to MPhil and PhD students who think that their English language proficiency is unsatisfactory or whose supervisors require them to enhance their English language skills.
