VPN Access to DSU Resources 

VPN access to DSU enable the students and faculty  to use LMS, DSU Applications, DSU Home Drive and Terminal Services from off campus. There are currently two methods to connect the DSU VPN.

1. DSU VPN Client (Recommended Method)

This method requires the installation of VPN client on your Microsoft Windows/Ubuntu Linux desktop/laptop. This can also be used to connect to DSU VPN using Android/iOS based smart phones and tablets.

2. WebVPN (Client-less)

This requires the use of web browser with java runtime environment (JRE) installed.  Using this method LMS, Terminal Services and Home Drive can be accessed.  The procedure to connect to DSU WebVPN can be downloaded from here.

Procedure to Connect DSU VPN from Android or Apple Smartphone

Android and Apple users  need to install OpenVPN Connect App from Google App Store or iTunes  respectively and then import this config file for connection settings.

 

Ways to Access Your DSU Email 

DSU email can be accessed by 

1. Using Web Interface

By accessing mail.dsu.edu.pk

2. Using a mail client on PC/Laptop and Smart Phones 

Settings for configuring DSU email on Smart Phone and mail clients are

Incoming: IMAP (port 143), mail.dsu.edu.pk, START TLS

Outgoing: SMTP (port 587), mail.dsu.edu.pk, TLS

3. Using DSU email Through your Gmail Account 

If you use Gmail, you can configure your Gmail account to send and receive your DSU emails throgh Gmail. The detailed procedure for configuring DSU email in Gmail is here

Summary Settings:

Sending emails SMTP Server: mail.dsu.edu.pk (port 587). Select secured connection using TLS 

Check emails POP Server: mail.dsu.edu.pk (port 110). Uncheck leave copy of message on the server
