New Faculty Members Join DHA Suffa University

Dr. Kamran Ali

Dr. Kamran Ali, who specializes in the areas of Nanotechnology and Materials Processing, has joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at DHA Suffa University. He earned his PhD from the Advanced Micro-Mechatronics (AMM) Lab, Jeju National University, South Korea.

Dr. Kamran Ali’s research focuses on Nanotechnology, Materials Science, Thin Films, Roll-to-Roll Atmospheric Atomic Layer Deposition, Roll-to-Roll Atmospheric Chemical Vapor Deposition, Conventional Atomic Layer Deposition, Chemical Vapor Deposition, Advanced Manufacturing, Rapid Fabrication, Electrospray Deposition (ESD), Electrohydrodynamic Patterning (EHDP) and Printed Electronics. His research has been published in numerous reputable international and HEC recognized journals such as Langmuir, Applied Surface Science, Journal of Materials Science and Chinese Journal of Physics. His joining of DHA Suffa University will not only increase good quality research but will also add strength to the academics of the University.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Dr. Faryal Salman

Dr. Faryal Salman, who specializes in the area of Consumer Behavior, has joined DHA Suffa University as Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Management Sciences.

Dr. Faryal Salman holds a PhD in Marketing from SZABIST and has extensive research and teaching experience. Prior to joining DHA Suffa University, she served at some of the most coveted business schools in Pakistan which include IBA and SZABIST. She has authored numerous research papers that have been published in well-reputed international and HEC recognized journals. Her joining of DHA Suffa University has added depth to the academic contribution by the University.


Dr. Gul Shahzad

Dr. Gul Shahzad, who specializes in Optical Fiber Communications and Wireless Sensor Networks, has joined the Department of Electrical Engineering as Assistant Professor. He earned his PhD from Hanyang University, South Korea under HEC scholarship and completed his Masters from the University of Applied Sciences, Giessen-Friedberg, Germany.

Prior to joining DHA Suffa University, he worked at Fraunhofer Institute, Germany, where he was involved in developing a high-speed optical fiber system as part of a European project. He has also served at Bahria University and NU-FAST.

Dr. Gul Shahzad’s research focuses on wireless sensor networks, smart grids, smart and energy efficient applications for the future smart cities and Internet of Things (IoT). His research has been published in IEEE and HEC recognized journals which include the IEEE Sensors Journal and Mobile Information Systems by Hindawi.


Asstt Prof Khalil Ahmed Ansari

Mr. Khalil Ahmed Ansari, who specializes in the area of Electromagnetic Field Theory, joined the faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences at DHA Suffa University on August 16, 2016. He holds a Masters degree in Communication Engineering from US Navy Postgraduate School Monterey, California, USA.

He is a highly experienced scholar with 32 years of teaching experience in renowned institutions of Pakistan which include NUST and NU-FAST. His joining of DHA Suffa University has strengthened the DSU faculty further.


Asstt Prof Abdul Waheed

Asstt Prof Abdul Waheed, who specializes in Microwave Devices and Microwave Circuits, has joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at DHA Suffa University. He holds a Masters degree in Communication Engineering from Bundeswehr University, Germany and has a vast professional and teaching experience. Prior to joining DHA Suffa University, he has served as an Assistant Professor at NUST for more than 18 years and has worked as Director Professional Development Center at NUST and Director NUST-OES joint venture for more than 13 years. His appointment at DHA Suffa University has strengthened the faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences.


Asstt Prof Farhan Mahboob

Mr. Farhan Mahboob, who specializes in the area of MIS, has recently joined the Department of Management Sciences at DHA Suffa University. He earned an MBA degree from Herriot-Watt University, UK after completing his BS in Business Administration from University of Arizona, USA.

Mr. Farhan Mahboob is an expert in designing business solutions and holds certifications of international repute which include Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Solaris Administrator certifications. He has also participated in various trainings conducted by internationally renowned organizations which include Microsoft, Cisco, Sun Microsystems, Nortel Networks, Network Associates and Lucent. Before joining DHA Suffa University, he served for 7 years in the Management Sciences Department of Iqra University. His joining of DHA Suffa University has added immense value to the faculty of Economics and Management Sciences.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Mr. Asif Gulraiz

Mr. Asif Gulraiz, who specializes in the areas of Power Engineering and Power Electronics, has joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at DHA Suffa University as a Senior Lecturer. He earned his Masters degree in Sustainable Electrical Power from Brunel University, London, UK.

His research interests include Power Quality, Power Generation, Smart Grids, Distribution System Behavior in response to Renewable Energy Technologies and Energy Sustainability. He has previously supervised various Final Year Engineering Projects pertaining to ECO CAB, Vertical Wind Turbine Design and Power Line Control and Management Systems. Mr. Asif Gulraiz’s addition to DHA Suffa University has strengthened the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

 


Lt. Col. (R) Munzim Ahmed Vahidy

Lt. Col. (R) Munzim Ahmed Vahidy, who specializes in the areas of Aviation and Automobile Engineering, has joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at DHA Suffa University. He earned his Masters degree in Helicopter Engineering from ENSICA, France and holds an MBA in Human Resource Management with a Gold Medal from PIMSAT.

Lt. Col. (R) Munzim Ahmed Vahidy has extensive professional experience in the areas of Development, Production and Quality of high precision parts for aircrafts and automobiles. He was awarded the Commendation Card by Pakistan Army in recognition of his contribution towards development work at Aircraft Manufacturing Factory, Kamra and remained the General Manager (Technical) of an elite National Project at NESCOM. Having a valuable experience of about 9 years at the renowned Atlas Group of Companies as General Manager Quality and Engineering Development, he is a certified trainer in multiple areas of Technical and Human Resource Management. His joining of DHA Suffa University will enhance the academic, professional and industrial strength of the University.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Mr. Muhammad Imran

Mr. Muhammad Imran, who specializes in the area of Solid Mechanics, has recently joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at DHA Suffa University as a Lecturer. He holds a Masters degree in Solid Mechanics from the University of Malaya, Malaysia.

Mr. Muhammad Imran’s research interests include Solid Mechanics, Fracture Mechanics, Fatigue and Failure Analysis, Numerical Techniques, Finite Element Methods, Boundary Element Methods and Computational Mechanics. His research is dedicated to Failure Analysis and Mechanical Response of Aerospace Structures and has been published in the reputable ISI-indexed “Engineering Failure Analysis” journal. His joining of DHA Suffa University will not only strengthen the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences but will also add depth to the University’s research.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Mr. Nauman Ali

Mr. Nauman Ali, who specializes in the area of Transmission Line Protection, has joined the Department of Electrical Engineering as a Lecturer. He earned his Masters in Electrical Power Systems from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. Mr. Nauman Ali’s research revolves around Adaptive Over-current Relay, Distance Protection, Doubly-fed Induction Generators (DFIG) and Power Transformer Differentials. His appointment at DHA Suffa University will enhance the academic profile of the University.
