Session on “Analyzing the Market; from Passion to Product”.

The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development (CEID) at DHA Suffa University organized an interactive session on the topic of “Analyzing the Market; from Passion to Product”.

The speaker for this session was Mr. Azhar Rizvi who is a serial entrepreneur, IT Consultant, CEO of Cambridge Advisory Network and founder of MIT Enterprise Forum Chapter in Pakistan. A prominent leader with prime focus on developing an entrepreneurial eco-system in Pakistan. He is also a charter member of TiE and OPEN.

Talking to the audience at DSU, Mr. Azhar focused his discussion on the changing regional market dynamics and discussed the evolution of new opportunities for a young potential entrepreneur to be explored further. He also discussed the importance of passion and how much important and significant part it plays for a young entrepreneur’s success. It was a very interesting learning session, and students were able to get an insight into a practical dynamic of entrepreneurship.

Workshop on Blogging & Article Writing

We are done with our 4-week ‘Blogging & Article Writing’ workshop by Shahzaib Shaikh (contributor to different magazines.)

The participants were awarded certificates by Mr. Faisal Quraishi, senior Editor at a renowned media group. The participants presented their blogs, they prepared in the 4-week workshop based on different topics. Mr Faisal advice them with the best industry practices and shared a number of internship opportunities too.

It was a great hands-on experience for all the participants and now they’ll continue blogging having a number of visitors on their respective blogs already.

Session on ‘General Safety Guidelines for Engineering Laboratories’

ME Department Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Committee conducted a training session on General Safety Guidelines for Engineering Laboratories on 12th July 2019. The session introduced lab staff to general safety guidelines and best practices and focused on enabling them to identify potential safety hazards in their respective areas of responsibility. The intent of the training was to enable lab staff to perform a detailed risk assessment of their respective labs and devise a comprehensive and current safety plans.

Workshop on ‘Data Management Using Excel’

DHA Suffa University organized a 2-week workshop on ‘Data Management Using Excel’ by Ms. Eram Abbasi (Microsoft Excel Specialist – Certified from Microsoft), in which employees from different esteemed organizations visited.

The training included gaining familiarity with Excel environment to exhibit data in a productive, smart and presentable way.

Exit Meeting of Assessment Team for BBA and MBA Programs

Self-Assessment of BBA and MBA programs offered by the MS Department was initiated in January 2019. SAR was prepared and submitted by Program Team (PT) comprising of Dr. Faheem Akhter, Ms. Bushra Mahmood and Ms. Erum Fatima. The VC appointed members of Assessment Team (AT) for evaluation/verification of SAR. The AT comprised of Dr. Rida Ahmed and Mr. Zahid Hussain. The Exit Meeting of AT for Quality Self-Assessment of BBA and MBA Programs was held on July 12, 2019. The AT presented its findings to Engr. Prof. Dr. Johar Khurshid Farooqi (Dean EMS), Dr. Faryal Salman (HoD MS), Engr. Akhtar Nadyme (Director QEC) and PT members. The AT appreciated the department for addressing majority of the findings identified in the previous visit and identified grey areas in the SAR. Strengths and areas for further improvement identified through the SAR were discussed in detail. The report was mutually agreed upon.

Seminar on ‘Startup Journey of Createch’

The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation Developemnt (CEID) at DHA Suffa University organized a talk for young Entrepreneurs on ‘Startup Journey of Createch’. The speaker for this event was Mr.  Muhammad Mahmood Ali Siddiqui; Co-Founder & Director Business Development at Createch Global Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Mahmood is an energetic serial entrepreneur and has a vast experience with development and mentoring of young startups. During the session, he shared his own entrepreneurial journey with the students, by providing valuable insights on the practical concepts of entrepreneurship, how a young entrepreneur can operate efficiently with regards to early stage limitations, tips & tricks on understanding the customer persona, and finally how to achieve profitability.

It was a very informative session as it helped to create relevance between the concepts taught in the classroom and their real-world applications.
