DHA Suffa University hosted a seminar on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, titled “Breaking the Chains: Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery for All,” on Saturday, June 28, 2025. The session featured distinguished mental health professionals who shared diverse perspectives on the theme. Dr. Washdev Amar, Head of Psychiatry at Dow University of Health Sciences, spoke about the significance of treatment and rehabilitation, while Dr. Saad Masood from Karwan-e-Hayat discussed the complex relationship between substance use and psychiatric comorbidities. Dr. Salman Shehzad, Professor from the Institute of Clinical Psychology, emphasized prevention through awareness and early intervention, and Dr. Razi Sultan Siddiqui, Director of Student Counselling at DHA Suffa University, highlighted the vital role of educational institutions in addressing youth vulnerability and promoting mental health resilience.

This collaborative and insightful event underscored the growing need for integrated efforts across clinical, academic, and institutional levels to respond to the rising challenge of substance use, especially among young populations.
