AD MAD 2022

Management Sciences Society at DHA Suffa University, organized the fifth edition of ad making competition “Ad Mad”. The theme of the competition was “breaking stereotypes” and it was organized under the supervision of Chairperson Ms. Sadia Mehboob and Director SSCC Ms. Saima Sardar On Tuesday, 14TH June 2022.
AD MAD- a success! Continuing MSS’s proud legacy, once again bought the most enthusiastic shots of growing talents at DSU. The names of fame and nobility- Amir Seleem and the very talented emerging artist- Zoheb Asif were with us as external judges. Dr. Kamran khan and Mr. Abu Huraira faculty management sciences were also present as internal evaluators. With immaculate coordination of MSS team, all ad projections put up a spotlight show. Out of total 10 teams along with their group members from different departments, Team “RUNG” with brand “Coca- Cola” won the award for the best ad and won the cash prize as well.
The event was graced by Pro-Vice Chancellor, DHA Suffa University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saeed Minhas, Dean Management and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Bashir Ahmad, Registrar DSU, Brig. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asif Iqbal with all respected faculty from Management Sciences Department.
The session was concluded with the words of wisdom from Prof. Dr. Bashir Ahmad, and concluding remarks of Professor Dr. Ahmed Saeed Minhas Pro-Vice Chancellor with vote of thanks, followed by presentation of plaque of appreciation to our external Judges.
Alongside Ad Mad, teams from different departments enthusiastically participated in the most entertaining game activity “Soap Soccer” while food stalls were the favorite spot of the students on the day.

DSU signs an MoU with PAEAIC

DHA Suffa University Signs an MoU with Pakistan Academy of Engineering Artificial Intelligence Consortium (PAEAIC) for job opportunities in global job market to Engineering and CS students of the University

On 15th June 2022, DHA Suffa University (DSU) signed an MoU with Pakistan Academy of Engineering Artificial Intelligence Consortium (PAEAIC) to explore avenues for job placement in the field of Artificial Intelligence at international level and professional development of students. The MoU was signed by Prof Dr. Engr. Muhammad Afzal Haque Vice Chancellor, DSU, and Prof. Dr. Engr. Brig. Nasim Akhtar Khan (R), Executive Secretary, Pakistan Academy of Engineering (PAE). On this occasion, Dr. Haque reiterated that DSU students will greatly benefit from the platform provided by PAEAIC at global level for their professional growth and career advancement. Dr. Nasim Akhtar elaborated that PAEAIC is a symbol of quality and dignity, which aims to turn Pakistani students into the world’s best artificial intelligence experts. Under this MoU, PAEAIC’s global outreach network with engineering and IT organizations as well as professionals from Silicon Valley USA will offer training opportunities for DSU students to enhance their proficiency and equip them with the necessary skills required to carve a niche in the global job market. Dr. Masood Mehmood Khan, Bentley, Australia, Prof Dr. Junaid Zubairi, New York, Mr. Musharraf Z Khan, Mr. Shahid Mir and Mr. Tariq Shaikh participated in this event online.

Industrial trip to K-Electric

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has arranged an industrial trip to K-Electric (BQPS-II) for the students of semester VIII students enrolled in an elective Power Plants course on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Under the supervision of Engr. Taha Irshad the students visited BQPS-II (560 MW) where they were able to observe the practical applications of the gas turbines and steam power plants. The trip was a great learning opportunity for students as it helped students relate many concepts studied in the classroom to real-life settings.

Population Services International and National Incubation Center, Karachi visited DSU

On 9th June, members of  Population Services International, PSI Pakistan, and National Incubation Center, Karachi visited DHA Suffa University to create awareness about their upcoming Make Space Hackathon. Syeda Aimman Saeed, Assistant Program Manager at PSI, talked about the population crisis and how they are trying to resolve it through their hackathon.

It was an interesting session as students were curious to know about the innovative solutions that can resolve population crisis in Pakistan. The session ended with Dr. Eram Abbasi, Director CEID, answering queries about the hackathon and its importance in Pakistan.
