Diamond Jubilee Independence Day celebrations at DSU

As a sequel to the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day celebrations at DSU, first lecture was held by the DSU IR Department.

One of the most celebrated, renowned and respected diplomat Ambassador Zamir Akram graced the occasion as one of the panelist with Pro VC DSU Brig (R) Dr Ahmed Saeed Minhas and discussed the Success Story of Pakistan’s Foreign Policy in Last 75 Years and the Paradigm Shift in National Security Policy.

Indeed, it was a unique experience to listen on the core IR issues from seasoned and experienced practitioners.

The event was attended by Think Tank CISSS, students and faculty members of DSU and Karachi University.

The event was anchored by an expert anchor Mouhammad Zafeer from K-21 Channel and shall be aired around Independence Day.

Dr. Syed Ejaz Ahmed, Dean Faculty of Mathematics & Science at Brock University, visit to DSU

After DHA Suffa University’s recent MOU with Brock University (Canada), Dr. Syed Ejaz Ahmed, Dean Faculty of Mathematics & Science at Brock University, visited DSU on 27th-July-2022.  During his visit, various matters of mutual academic interest between DSU and Brock University were discussed.  Vice Chancellor DSU, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal Haque presented a memento to the visiting Dean of Brock University, Dr. S. Ejaz Ahmed, as a token of appreciation for his visit.

Under DSU’s Credit Transfer agreement with Brock University (Canada) for its BS(CS) program, the first student cohort of DSU’s undergraduate students is scheduled to depart for Brock University (Canada) to complete their remaining semesters, beginning next year in Spring 2023.

Informative session about ORIC

An informative session about ORIC was successfully conducted by ORIC-DSU. Respected Deans of Management and Social Sciences Dr. Bashir Ahmad and Dean of Engineering and Applied Sciences Dr. Johar Farooqi were present. HODs, faculty members and researchers from different departments also attended the session.

Dr. Ahmad Hussain briefed the participants about the functions and responsibilities of ORIC and highlighted the ways in which ORIC can help the researchers in administrative functions and help them win research funding. The session ended with an open discussion where current problems faced by researchers were identified and future

 

Career Guidance Drive for CS Students

On 21st June, 2022 Career Service & Corporate Relations arranged a career guidance drive for the students of CS with the collaboration of CS Department’s Faculty. This drive included was arranged to create a communication bridge between the CS students and the corporate world in the field of Computer Sciences. Almost 12 organizations showed their presence in the event. They conversed with the students and tried their best to answer their queries and questions. Also, they were able to measure the worth of our students and their capabilities through this drive. After the interaction session with the students, the guests were asked individually about the feedback for the quality of our students and where we need to work on our students. The response from the guests was very positive and it was vice versa from student side. CS students were very curious and enthusiastic and showed full involvement in the drive.
