JOB FAIR HOSTED BY COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT DSU

The Computer Science Department at DHA Suffa University hosted a Job Fair on Thursday, September 21st. This event aimed to connect students with a wide array of prospective employers, providing them with valuable opportunities to secure employment immediately upon graduating from the university. Multiple renowned companies were extended invitations to participate in this event, underscoring our commitment to facilitating our students’ seamless transition into the workforce.

ONE DAY INDUSTRIAL VISIT

OES recently organized an enlightening industrial visit for students from renowned institutions of Karachi University, NED University of Engineering and Technology and DHA Suffa University. The visit included two pivotal renewable energy sites Lucky Cement Limited and Zephyr Power Limited, offering an invaluable firsthand experience in the field.

Exploring both solar and wind energy sites, students gained insights into sustainable energy solutions and witnessed cutting-edge technology in action. They’ve empowered these bright young minds with practical knowledge, nurturing a generation of future leaders ready to steer sustainable change in our nation’s energy landscape.

4th Summer Workshop on “Strategic Matters”

The International Relations program of DHA Suffa University sent three of its faculty members to participate in the 4th Summer Workshop on “Strategic Matters” organized by The Center for International Strategic Studies, Islamabad from 3-5 October 2023.

The workshop was designed to foster expertise and advance strategic thinking among academics and contributors to the field by connecting practitioners and academia from across Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, and Islamabad.

The dynamic global and regional strategic landscape, global nuclear order, Pakistan’s nuclear policy, deterrence strategy and strategic stability, nuclear command and control, nuclear safety and security, and the role of nuclear technology in Pakistan’s socioeconomic development, were just a few of the many topics covered during the discussion. In addition to intellectual discussions and interactive sessions, the workshop included a study visit to SUPARCO and the Pakistan National History Museum.

The DSU delegation included Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Raza (Program Manager, IR), Dr. Samreen Bari, and Dr. Sidra Ahmed. Whereas, faculty members from IBA Karachi, NDU, NUST, Quaid-e Azam University, Baluchistan University, SZABIST Karachi, Greenwich University, Habib University, University of Karachi, and Punjab University also attended the workshop.

Investigative Journalism: Information, Misinformation and Disinformation

WORKSHOP ON EFFECTIVE PLACEMENT AND INTERNSHIP MANAGEMENT

A workshop on Effective Placement and Internship Management was conducted on the Wednesday, the 23rd of August, 2023. The Resource Persons were Prof. Tahir Mahmood (Executive Director, Hazza Institute of Technology, Islamabad) and Dr. Munazza Danish, Deputy Director(Academics), Sindh HEC. Participants from various universities participated in this workshop. The event was organized by Hazza Institute of Technology in collaboration with DHA Suffa University

Workshop on Microgrid Operations and Control Challenges

Prof. Dr. Tariq Masood, visiting faculty at Oregon Institute of Technology USA and a PhD from the University of Bath (UK) conducted a workshop at DHA Suffa University on “Microgrid Operations and Control Challenges”. The workshop was attended by undergraduate and graduate students of DSU’s Department of Electrical Engineering (EE), EE faculty, as well as senior officials from the industrial and corporate sectors. In the workshop, the guest speaker covered the main challenges associated with solar and wind power & how these challenges are addressed through fast, robust and effective control systems at the Microgrid level. The presentation was followed by an interactive Q&A session, during which the guest speaker answered the queries of students and faculty related to Microgrids and their operation.
