35th Multi-Topic International Symposium Medal Winners

DHA SUFFA University’s EE students were presented Gold Medals and Rs. 15K in the 35th Multi-Topic International Symposium. Students presented their FYP in-front of large audience comprising of renowned industrialists, CEO’s, Directors and parents. They handled questions in a professional and Technical manner. They secured the gold medal award during the All Pakistan student seminar by competing with 36 FYP’s from across Pakistan’s renowned Technical Universities. Indeed a great achievement. Alhamdulillah all praises to Allah. The FYP was very well received among the audience. FYP supervisor Engr. Asif Gulraiz deserve appreciation for his commendable efforts.

35th IEEEP International Multi Topic Symposium

IEEEP collaborated with DSU EE Department for the 35th IEEEP International Multi Topic Symposium (26-27 Feb 2020) at Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi. DSU EE faculty members participated as organizing committee members, session chair and secretary for student conference. The entire two International Symposium was managed by our EE student volunteers. EE Students showcased their managerial talent as a team by completing tasks assigned to them with in strict deadlines.

DSU winner in 69th Pakistan Annual Flower Show 2020

In the 69th Pakistan Annual Flower Show 2020, DHA Suffa University won the first prize in garden competition held on 21st February, 2020. Col. Mahmood-ul- Hasan, Admin & Security Officer DSU is receiving award from the chief guest Mr. Arif Alvi, President of Pakistan.

DHA Suffa University students winner at ZABMUN

The delegation of DHA Suffa University has yet again showcased their skills this time at SZABIST Model United Nations (ZABMUN) at Movenpick hotel.

The award winners were:

The delegation also included Shahroz Hasan, Zunair Ahmed, Shaheer Airaj Ahmed, Farhan Kahlil, Rana Umer Farooq and Sadaf Shakir.

International Cooperation (MoU) Signing between DHA Suffa University and Bir Ventures USA Ltd. (IdeaGist)

To foster entrepreneurial culture in the university, on 14th February, 2020 DHA Suffa University entered into an international collaboration with Bir Ventures USA Ltd. (IdeaGist). IdeaGist is a virtual incubation platform for people of every walk of life but with especial focus for the students. This platform trains them and connects them with innovators, entrepreneurs, investors and students globally to help them launch their dream business. It is an online community of students, alumni, researchers and industry to work together towards a better future by developing innovation-driven enterprises.

The MOU was signed by Brig. Muhammad Rafiq Ahmed (Registrar) representing DHA Suffa University, in the presence of Mr. Muhammad Afzal Haque (Vice. Chancellor), Engr. Dr. Johar Khurshid (Dean) and Ms. Eram Abbasi (Director Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation Development – CEID). Mr. Hassan Syed the CEO of IdeaGist himself was present to sign the MOU.

This main purpose of this collaboration is to support the Prime Minister’s Startup Pakistan program by establishing strategic partnerships with the university and to offer virtual incubation to their students and alumni by offering entrepreneurship as a carrier choice. So, the idea is to work together under the initiative by starting, mentoring and supporting ‘business incubation programs’ and provide access to investment and funding for innovative new products developed by aspiring entrepreneurs especially by DSU faculty and students.

PDC Workshop on Customer Centricity

A workshop was recently conducted by DSU Professional Development Centre on Customer Centricity – A key Driver for Growth. The workshop facilitator was seasoned professional and trainer Mr. Farooq Shaikh (CEO Bablefish Consulting) who has a diverse experience of over 20 years in consumer, pharma, retail and telecom. In his session, he shared how putting customers and their needs as the number one priority as a business ethos pays off in the long run. Talking about potential areas for growing brands, the trainer shared case studies on how the world most successful brands became customer centric as a means of unprecedented growth. The day long workshop also included group exercises and discussions and ended with a team exercise where participants applied the concepts and ideas that they were taught in the light of their current roles. The workshop was attended by professionals from DIB, Attock Cement, Soneri Bank, Abbott Pharmaceuticals, Hilal Foods, Pakistan Railways, Vinci Cosmetics etc to name a few, and was very well received.
